Vistry submits plans for 534-home community in Bromborough
Vistry has submitted a Reserved Matters planning application for a major new residential development in Bromborough, Wirral, which would deliver 534 new homes, including extra care accommodation, affordable housing and improved access to the River Mersey waterfront.
The proposals relate to a 35-acre brownfield site and comprise 424 1-, 2-, 3- and 4-bedroom homes, alongside an extra care facility providing 110 1- and 2-bedroom apartments.
The extra care development would include community amenities such as a bistro and hairdresser, helping to create a welcoming and accessible environment for residents.
As part of the plans, Vistry is proposing a range of measures designed to improve connectivity and enhance access to the waterfront. This includes the introduction of a new bus route through the development, the creation of an accessible promenade along the River Mersey frontage and an extension of the Wirral Circular Trail through the site.
The scheme would also deliver new areas of public open space and play facilities, alongside biodiversity net gain measures and financial contributions towards local services and infrastructure.
Through its Partnerships model, Vistry is proposing to provide affordable housing across at least half of the development in partnership with registered provider partners, helping to support housing delivery in Wirral. The remaining homes would be delivered for private sale through the Linden Homes and Bovis Homes brands.
Subject to planning approval, Vistry intends to utilise its Partnerships delivery model to support the efficient delivery of the scheme and contribute towards local housing delivery requirements.
